The Mat

The mat (passe-partout) is a cardboard sheet cut to fit the frame’s size. This sheet is positioned to create a gap between the photo and the glass of the frame. This way, you avoid damage over time, such as the mold that condensation could cause. Besides its protective function, the mat also serves a decorative purpose. Your artwork is shielded from direct contact with the glass and elegantly enhances your photo. It’s the final touch that turns your artworks into true masterpieces, transforming your interiors.

From this perspective, a mat is an additional frame for your piece of art. The distance between the glass and the image surface is increased, creating a depth effect that draws even more attention to the artwork.
Museum Acrylic Glass

My 2 mm thick, shatterproof museum glass of gallery quality protects your artwork and gives it an elegant shine.
Museum glass is not a product or a universally valid term, but is intended to denote high-quality picture glass that is often used in museums. Hence, the colloquial term. Generally, museum glass refers to optically non-reflective glass with higher UV protection.

Is Museum Acrylic Glass non-reflective?

Unlike frosted glass, museum glass is interferometrically non-reflective. It is best recognized by its ability to almost completely prevent light reflections. It appears almost ‘invisible’ to the human eye and reproduces colors with exceptional brilliance.
